Tough but beautiful!

We just have to share it. The last ride of our cycling team was amazing!

Favorable autumn

When our cyclists had to change their plans in September due to a weekend of continuous rain, we quietly feared that pleasant temperatures might no longer be in their favor to carry out the season’s final ride. But this year’s autumn has been really generous, granting us a warm and pleasant Sunday that our cyclists made the most of.

Leave the best for last

For the season’s closure, they chose a route that should be left for the time after you have covered many kilometers. As they put it simply: Tough but beautiful! Their route took them from Ribnica over the pass Strma Reber, also known as “Little Vršič,” to Osilnica and back. This pass boasts 19 switchbacks with an average gradient of 8.8%, reaching a maximum of 17%. Its summit is at an altitude of 993 m. The numbers, 85 kilometers and 1850 altitude meters, tell us that this was no walk in the park. The stunning landscape of the Kočevje forests, through which this road winds, added to the experience too.

Pleasant farewell

They ended the season satisfied and in high spirits by some good food and drink and forged new plans for the coming year. Let it be a surprise!
